Episode 5: The Dark Mother Archetype

read the post

In this post, I trace the devouring mother archetype from her earliest mythic forms to her modern psychological and cultural expressions through Jung, neuroscience, systems theory, and Theravāda Buddhism. This isn’t a condemnation of care. It’s an inquiry into what happens when care collapses into control.

It’s also a call to look at the data, especially the rising misery of men, and ask what role our collective narratives are playing. If compassion is real, it must include discernment. If we’re serious about liberation, we have to name what devours it.

You don’t have to agree. But if it stirred something—reflection, discomfort, insight—bring that. I welcome it.
